Enjoy a show at the Covert Theatre, the home of improv comedy and The Improv Bandits. Get ready to laugh as the comedy is made up right in front of your eyes by our team of resident improvisers. At the Covert, no audience members are dragged on stage so you can enjoy the show from the safety of your seat. It’s always different, always fun.
This season includes: The Fun Size Festival - 5 scripted comedy plays in one show, The Improv Bandits - the world champs of funny, Rehab - a dark comedy that explores the world of addiction, Private Dick - a homage to film noir, Instant Broadway - an off-the-cuff musical, In Bono Veritas - an live mockumentary and much, much more. There is something for everyone!
Enjoy a drink in our fully licensed bar as our friendly staff make sure you are well taken care of.
Shows take place Thursday to Sunday and the Covert is located in the heart of Ponsonby. The theatre can seat 86 audience members so book now to avoid disappointment.

Best laugh in town
This improv theatre is full of amazing shows! We booked a few shows with our vouchers and we had so much fun!!!! It’s so close to ponsonby central so I love going for a bite before and then have the best night watching shows, never the same each time, always impressed by the skills of the comedian! How can you make up a story this good on the spot! Wow! Round of applause for all

Great night out!
The comedy show was great – so much fun, and the actors are very talented. I would recommend visiting this theatre for a night out!
